2017 Luminaria Candle-lit Walk - December 8 & 9

What's happening?

Join us for the Yakima Area Arboretum's annual Luminaria candle-lit walk on December 8 & 9!

Luminaria features a walk through the Arboretum's wintry landscape guided by the light of a 1000 candles. Listen to the music of the Arboretum's Carillon Bells as you stroll through the twinkling lights of the Japanese Garden, then into the Jewett Interpretive Center where you will enjoy steaming cups of Starbuck's coffee, hot Tree Top apple cider, tasty treats from the kitchen of Zirkle Fruit, live music performed by various local artists, fun children's crafts, and shopping in the Tree House Gift Shop.

Park and Ride! Yakima Transit will be offering a free shuttle service from the old Kmart parking lot across the street from the Arboretum to the front doors of the Jewett Interpretive Center. So expect shorter lines of traffic, no more scary dark parking lots, and getting stuck in the mud. YAHOO!

Handicap Parking! All traffic will be directed to park in the Kmart parking lot across the street unless you have a handicap parking pass and would like to park next to the Jewett Interpretive Center. For access onto the grounds you will need to drive into the Kmart parking area before crossing over onto the Arboretum grounds using the signal light. Turn lanes into the Arboretum will be barricaded off. Show your pass at the barricade.

FREE, FAMILY, FUN
(However, donations are gladly accepted, ensuring the candles stay lit!)
