Don’t miss this rare opportunity to engage with Broadway legend Harold (Hal) Prince in person! As the director or producer of nearly 60 Broadway shows, Prince’s contribution to Broadway is unparalleled. This special event features Harold Prince reflecting on his star-studded career, complimented by live musical theatre performances by renowned JMU alumni who have appeared on Broadway as well as current JMU students. Prince has worked on Cabaret (1966), Fiddler on the Roof (1964), A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum (1962), West Side Story (1957) and Damn Yankees (1955). He collaborated with Stephen Sondheim on Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (1979), Follies (1971) and Company (1970), and teamed up with Andrew Lloyd Webber to direct The Phantom of the Opera (1986) and Evita (1978). Prince has garnered 21 Tony Awards, more than any other individual, including a Tony Award for Lifetime Achievement in the Theatre in 2006. He is also a Kennedy Center Honoree and a National Medal of the Arts award winner.
