Ales of Antiquity: Vikings Ale

What's happening?

Join us for an examination of Vikings beer paired with foods inspired by the Scandinavian region. During the course of the evening, Travis Rupp will present brewing techniques and history behind Ragnarsdrapa; a Viking-inspired ale (c.900 CE) brewed with Scandinavian malt, juniper branches and berries, and baker's yeast. Travis has created four versions of Ragnarsdrapa, which will be paired with Vikings inspired dishes.

Course 1:
Pickled herring, goat chevre, grain rye bread, apple preserve

Course 2:
Juniper/herbed chicken legs smoked with oak served with a roasted root vegetable hash

Course 3:
Wild boar sausage stewed in Ragnarsdrapa broth, accompanied with carrots, onions, fennel. Garnished with pickled radishes and grain bread.
